The End Result

We’ve just completed a full renovation of this bathroom, and the transformation is remarkable! What initially seemed like a straightforward upgrade turned into a much more involved project as we uncovered some hidden structural issues.

Before – A Space in Need of an Overhaul

White-tiled bathroom with bathtub, sink, toilet, green sculpture, and plants. Rubber ducks on tub. Window blinds closed. Calm atmosphere.
Bathroom with a white-tiled bathtub, wicker laundry basket, rubber ducks, and a gray shelf with plants. Yellow bucket on floor. Bright and tidy.

The original bathroom was functional but dated, with a closed-in layout that didn’t make the best use of the space. As with many older properties, the only way to ensure a high-quality finish was to strip everything back to the bare walls.

The Challenges Beneath the Surface

Once we started the rip-out process, we found some less-than-ideal historical building work. The biggest concern was the flooring—particularly in the rear extension, where sections were being held up by very small timbers, leading to significant structural instability.

Before we could even begin installing the new suite, we needed to reinforce and level the floors properly, ensuring everything was safe and built to last. Taking the time to address these issues meant that the final result would not only look great but also stand the test of time.

The Finished Bathroom – A Complete Transformation

Now, the space is barely recognizable! We installed a sleek walk-in shower with stunning large-format marble-effect tiles, giving the bathroom a high-end, luxurious feel. Gold fixtures add a touch of elegance, while the new flooring provides warmth and durability.

This project is a perfect example of why a thorough approach is so important. While unexpected challenges arose, we tackled them head-on to deliver a bathroom that isn’t just visually stunning but structurally sound as well.
